Halfway through the busy month of June here and we've done lots of different projects and events. Our cameras explored new bio-diesel technology in the labs at the University of Maine and Maine Maritime Academy. We have recorded the class night and graduation ceremonies of John Bapst Memorial High School in Bangor, Woodland High School in Baileyville and Hermon High School.
We are wrapping up our dance recitals with MADE Saturday June 18th. In the past few weeks, we have taped Peter Pan and the British Invasion for Thomas School of Dance, Turn Up the Radio for Morita's School of Dance and the Northern Lights Spring dance recital.
Colby College legendary coach Dick Whittemore is retiring after 40 years on Friday June 17th. We will be there for a two day celebration of his career recording the event. Lots of players that he has coached over the years will be on hand and it should be a lot of fun.
We set up microphones for the upcoming 12 concert series for the Pierre Monteux School for Conductors in Hancock. For the fourth year in a row, we will be recording all concerts, from which each conductor will get an edited DVD of their work. Furthermore, we are working with MPBN radio's Barry Darling, who produces Mainly Music. Selected symphony concerts will be aired throughout the year. Production starts June 26th and runs until the end of July.
Our major new project is the Black Bear Insider, a bi-weekly television show that airs beginning in September. Lots of work behind the scenes to get the project off the ground. We will be making up new graphics and coming up with fresh ideas for features and program elements to give the show new vitality.
